Litchfield - spectacular in spite of the crowds
Litchfield was also packed but that couldn’t take away from
the spectacular waterfalls (Wangi, Tolmer, Tyanera and Florence) and the
magnificent cascades and monsoon rainforest. The cascades were moderately
difficult to get to which meant that there weren’t many people – what a joy! We
think it was one of the deep river crossings on the way to Tyanera Falls that
did the damage to our tyre, which eventually sprung a leak just hear Wangi.
This meant that rather than stay off road at Douglas Springs and call into
Edith Falls, we decided to sprint to Katherine to get the wheel fittings put on
our other spare tyre so that we’d have a spare tyre. The flat one had to be
thrown out because the hole had broken 5 lots of steel supports in the tyre.
