Mary River National Park

Our sadness at leaving Kakadu was lessened by finding we could stay near this smaller but very lovely NP. Bird Billabong was a stunningly good place to see birds. The first photo has a jacana chick, well disguised! Couldn't believe we saw lotus flowers and their dried heads. The little agile wallabies were at our campsite. The baby was actually jumping on it's mother's back and trying to box her, all because she wouldn't let him get in her pouch when he wanted to. We just couldn't get our camera out in time to capture it. He is actually doing a good impression of Basil Brush in this photo!
