Uluru and Kata Tjuta
Uluru and Kata Tjuta were surprisingly enormous and
enjoyable, despite the almost military security and organisation, to keep the
340k tourists per year under control. Sunrise and sunset get well promoted and
it’s not obvious why so few tourists actually walk around both rocks.
We couldn't believe our luck - a full moon rising over Uluru - perfect timing!
The valley of the winds walk amongst Kata Tjuta was windy and allowed
us to get fairly close to the rocks, although it did include quite a lot of
walking around the rock rather than actually ‘in’ amongst the ‘heads’ of the
rock.
Called the "upside down" plant because the flowers are at the bottom of the plant!
