Yungaburra

The famous Yungaburra markets were better than expected with magnificent fruit and veg as well as chocolate and dried tropical fruits (chocolate flavoured coconut chips!!!). Met Krista Watkins of green banana resistant starch fame. Her farm was included in Craig Reucastel’s “War on Waste” but the story about their use of rejected green bananas for record breakingly potent resisant starch sadly wasn’t included. We exchanged details and I’m going to try her products with great interest. On our trip around the east of Tinaroo Lake we managed to succeed in getting some half decent rainforest photos – Russ worked out that we have to use AV with a smaller F stop to get rainforest photos. There was some nice afternoon light which also helped.

The curtain fig was impressive – it had grown over another tree which had later fallen over to about 45 degrees and then the original tree died, leaving the roots to trail down to the ground, hence the curtain formation.
